Does pineapple go on a pizza? The world may never know. There’s the adventurous pizza eater who prefers a variety of toppings on a pizza and then you have the cheese only pizza lover. There is no right or wrong, Laredo’s pizza places are top notch and worth visiting over and over again. In no particular order, here are a couple of local spots you need to check out:

This is the new kid on the block and was already voted the ‘Best Pizza’ and ‘Best Pizza Chef Chef’ in Laredo by the Laredo Morning Times 2022 Reader’s Choice Awards. I recently ordered the El Jefe and The Waikiki, so delicious. The menu has a variety of specialty pizzas to order from as well as pastas, salads and wings. Core memories are unlocked when I go to Sal's Pizza. I’m dating myself here, but back in the day you could find Sal’s Pizza inside Mall del Norte. I stick to a classic pepperoni pizza when ordering and I can never finish more than two slices. Now you can find them at their location along San Bernardo Avenue, Willie will gladly take your order over the phone and you can dine-in or carry-out.

Established in 2019 and found at Golondrina Food Park, take a break from the classic pepperoni and order the jamon serrano. The jamon serrano features gorgonzola cheese, figs, arugula and drizzled with honey. If you’re looking for a healthy alternative, upgrade your pizza to a cauliflower crust.
