National Ghost Hunting Day

Date published: 09.20.2022

Who comes up with these dates and themes, I have no idea? According to the National Day Calendar, the last Saturday in September is National Ghost Hunting Day. This day is part of the world’s largest ghost hunt. Do you believe in the paranormal? Are you a non-believer? My father has always told me I should be more afraid of the living than of the dead. He’s not wrong, but I’ve had a couple of unexplainable experiences that leave me with a hint of fear of the dead.

Did you know the Republic of the Rio Grande Museum has a self-guided haunted heritage tour available to the public, and it’s FREE! All you have to do is grab your cellular phone and head to downtown Laredo, visit the Republic of the Rio Grande Museum and pick up a free San Agustin Ghost Walk brochure. The brochure includes directions on how to access the tour along with a map of locations to stop at during your walking tour. Dial in, listen and learn.
As always, safety first. Be aware of moving vehicles, cyclists and other pedestrians. Invite your friends and family, learn about Laredo, after your tour drop in to La Posada’s Zaragoza Grill and enjoy a tasty meal.
The Republic of the Rio Grande Museum is located at 1005 Zaragoza, right next to La Posada Hotel. You can stop by and pick up a San Agustin Ghost Walk brochure during museum hours of operation: Tuesday thru Saturday from 9am to 4pm. Give them a follow on Facebook and Instagram. For those that still like to make phone calls and hear a friendly voice, you can call 956-727-0977 for more information.
