April CaminArte – Art, Food, Handmade Crafts and Selena!

By Selina Villarreal
March 27, 2018

CaminArte time! Head on down to the Laredo Center for the Arts on Friday, April 6th for some artistic inspiration. Take in the beautiful architecture, walk the streets of Laredo and shake your Bidi Bidi Bom Bom.

I had a Selena movie moment when I heard that the Laredo Center for the Arts (LCFA) is hosting “Como La Flor: A Selena Inspired Exhibit.” Me siento muy excited! More excited than when MAC Cosmetics announced a Selena collection and more excited than when H-E-B announced they would be selling Selena reusable bags. I lucked out with MAC but wasn’t so lucky with H-E-B.

And guess what? There is still time for you to participate with a Selena inspired piece. You’ve got until March 29 th to contact the LCFA and submit a piece.

Aside from the indoors Selena exhibit you’ll find the LCFA Food and Art Market in the patio area with music curated by The Pop Rocks and a live Selena painting by local artist Poncho Santos. Here are a couple of pictures from the April Caminarte:

In continuing with the Selena theme, Laredo Convention and Visitors Bureau will be hosting a Selena inspired craft corner. All supplies will be provided free of charge.

This family friendly event is free of charge and begins at 5pm. If you’d like to participate as a food vendor contact the LCFA at 956-725-1715 for more information. Follow Visit Laredo, Texas on Facebook for CaminArte updates.
