It's back! The most exciting event is right around the corner, and we can't wait to join in on the fun! The Washington's Birthday Celebration (WBCA) is a month-long extravaganza that takes place every February in Laredo. This lively event, dedicated to honoring the birthday of George Washington, stands as the largest celebration of its kind, drawing in approximately 400,000 enthusiastic attendees each year! The festivities encompass a diverse array of events, including the Society of Martha Washington Colonial Pageant and Ball, Princess Pocahontas Pageant and Ball, two lively parades, a thrilling carnival, an exhilarating air show, mesmerizing fireworks, electrifying live concerts, and the lively "Fun-Fest.”
Not to mention, the citywide prom adds a touch of glamour, where many of Laredo's elite don Colonial attire for the occasion. Adding to the charm, two locals assume the role of George and Martha Washington annually. Fun fact: Did you know that one of the standout highlights, the Jalapeño Festival, has secured its place as one of the Top 10 eating festivals in the United States? Well, now you do!
