Get ready to embrace the winds of excitement as the City of Laredo Parks and Recreation Department proudly presents the 14th Annual Spring Break Kite Festival on March 13, 2024, at the picturesque North Central Park. It's time to dust off your kites, rally the family, and prepare for a day filled with laughter, color, and the joy of flight.

Every year, this festival transforms the skies above North Central Park into a vibrant canvas of kites of all shapes and sizes. From majestic dragons to playful butterflies, kids of all age groups eagerly await this spectacular event, and this year is no exception. The festivities kick off at noon and promise to keep the fun soaring until 9 p.m.

The Parks and Recreation Department can hardly contain their excitement for what's in store, promising a lineup of activities that will make your spirits soar higher than the kites themselves.

One of the festival's highlights is its accessibility. For your convenience, parkgoers can park their vehicles at the Walmart on Loop 20 and International, where transportation to the park will be provided. So, leave the worries of parking behind and focus on the thrill of the sky-high adventure awaiting you.

As the sun bathes North Central Park in its golden glow, families will come together for a day of kite-flying euphoria. The grassy fields will be dotted with colorful kites taking flight, creating a magical scene that captures the essence of spring in Texas.

But the excitement doesn't stop with kite-flying. The Parks Department has lined up an array of activities for everyone to enjoy. From kite-decorating stations for the little artists to exhilarating kite-flying contests for the competitive souls, there's something for every member of the family.

Feel the wind in your hair, the sun on your face, and the thrill of flight as your kite dances through the sky.

And when hunger strikes, worry not! Food vendors will be on hand to cater to your cravings, ensuring that your energy stays high as you navigate the windy skies.
Best of all, this high-flying extravaganza is free and open to the public. So, gather your friends, family, and neighbors and head to North Central Park for a day of kite-fueled fun.
