El Centro de Laredo

One thing I look forward to each month is the Laredo Main Street El Centro de Laredo Farmers Market. This gives me the opportunity to spend a morning with my family and friends and pick up some yummy goodies such as seasonal produce, plants, herbs, organic coffee and a healthy snack.

The Market takes place every 3rd Saturday of the month at Jarvis Plaza in downtown Laredo from 9am – 1pm. Remember, the early bird gets the worm! There is free parking available (with Farmers Market purchase) at the El Metro Transit Center located just across the street from Jarvis Plaza.

Every month you’ll find over 25 vendors and informational booths on-site. This past month, Miss Elsa, owner of La India Packing Co. and Tasting Room Café held a demonstration as part of the GoTexan program and local musician, Arnold Villamero provided cool jams while local shoppers browsed the goods.

There is an ATM on-site, if you find yourself without cash, don’t fret. Make sure to take your recyclable shopping bags with you and I find that a bottle of water and a hand fan come in handy while strolling the plaza
