Laredo Big Bad BBQ Cook-Off

The 3rd Annual Laredo Big Bad BBQ Cook Off is set for November 10 & 11, 2017 in the beautiful Downtown Laredo at the Parking lot of The Outlet Shoppes at Laredo located at 1600 Water St., by the bank of the Rio Grand River.

Teams will compete for the title of Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion with a total of $20,000 payout in three categories, as well as jackpot categories in fajitas, pan de campo and beans.

Over the two-day cook-off, attendees can enjoy live music, activities, food, arts and crafts vendors, bar-be-que sampling and even, a chance to judge the official entries.

The Laredo Big Bad BBQ Cook-Off has already drawn competitors from all over the state. Some of the cooks who will be part of the event have been featured on BBQ Pitmasters on Destination America Network, and other teams are currently ranked in the Top 10 of the International Barbeque Cookers Association (ibcabbq.org), the organization sanctioning and setting the rules for this competition. Head judge will be Eddie Tapia.

Blue Santa

This event benefits the Laredo Police Department's Blue Santa Charity Program.

For over 20 years, the Laredo Police Department Blue Santa Charity Fund has been actively involved in giving toys to unfortunate children who would otherwise spend Christmas with nothing to all.

The program's funds are used for the purpose of assisting the poor, the distressed and the underprivileged in the City of Laredo, County of Webb through the toy distributions from Blue Santa himself.

The Laredo Police Department Blue Santa Charity Fund is a registered "non-profit organization"
