Lamar Bruni Vergara Environmental Science Center

Interested in creepy, crawly critters? If so, the Lamar Bruni Vergara Environmental Science Center is a must for your itinerary. The center contains representations of the Rio Grande ecosystem and live specimens of plant and animal to serve as a living science laboratory for local students.

Imaginarium of South Texas

The Imaginarium of South Texas is a place that sparks creativity and curiosity. Kids of all ages are encouraged to learn about science and technology through hands-on experience. Leave the textbooks at school and get ready for a unique learning opportunity.

Laredo Tours

The Webb County Heritage Foundation has several tour offerings that are available year round. Whether you prefer to tour downtown on your own or with a group of friends, there is an option for everyone. Guided Tour Schedule

Tours run on Friday and Saturdays at 10 a.m. or by appointment.

Adults $15.00

Children under 12 and Students with a valid ID – FREE

For tours by appointment, reservations with 24-hour advance notice are required. A minimum of five people per tour is required. Scheduled stops are subject to change. Price includes admission to The Republic of the Río Grande® Museum and the Villa Antigua® Border Heritage Museum. A minimum deposit of 50% is required for large groups.

Self-guided tours with “Amigo” MP-3 devices

Take at your own pace, on your own schedule, Tuesdays to Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tours begin and end at The Republic of the Río Grande® Museum, 1005 Zaragoza St.

Selection of Self-guided Walking Tours Available

Walking Tour of San Agustín Plaza Area
Beginning at the historic heart of Laredo: San Agustin Plaza, this one-hour walking tour showcases the The Republic of the Río Grande® Museum, the Villa Antigua® Border Heritage Museum, San Agustin Cathedral, San Agustin Plaza, the Washington’s Birthday Celebration Museum, and Casa Ortiz. This is a unique way of getting to know the history and architectural heritage of a 260 year-old city that has lived under seven flags.

Ghost Walk Tour I (San Agustin Historic District)
Come learn the stories behind some of the haunted sites in our oldest neighborhood and maybe catch a glimpse of a certain, ghostly character appearing in a few of these locations.

Ghost Walk Tour II (The Jarvis Plaza / St. Peter’s Historic District area)
This tour includes some of Laredo’s most notorious haunted sites, recounting tales of apparitions and other strange phenomena in residential and commercial buildings throughout the area.
