LCA Día de los Muertos Cultural Celebration

Spend an evening celebrating the lives of our dearly departed loved ones, enjoy live cultural musical and dance performances along with hands-on art workshops. Hecho a Mano’s handmade art market will be on-site along with local food vendors.

The public is also invited to view the Dia de l
os Muertos Altar Exhibit on display in the Mezzanine area.

The Altars are the heART❤️ and soul of our Dia festivities.

Enjoy complimentary pan de muerto, hot chocolate and atole donated by the Instituto Cultural Mexicano de Laredo.

Organizers are encouraging everyone to come dressed as a catrin or catrina, the skeletal figures that have become synonymous with the holiday.

Some of the free activities kids can enjoy will be a paper picado workshop, flower making workshop, calaverita mask workshop, and an edible art station.

Musical and dance performers will be: Ensamble de Guitarras del Dr. Gilberto Soto de Texas A&M International University, Ensamble Sinfonico de Nuevo Laredo, Ballet Folklorico de Texas A&M International University, Gabriela Mendoza-Garcia Ballet Folkorico, Compañia de Danza de Nuevo Laredo, and a DJ set by The Pop Rocks.

This event is hosted by the Laredo Center for the Arts with supporting partnerships by the City of Laredo, Laredo Convention and Visitors Bureau, Laredo Parks and Recreation Department, El Consulado General de Mexico and the Instituto Cultural de Mexico.
