LCVB Destination Training

Laredo Inside & Out

What better place to experience the rich culture and authentic dishes of South Texas than here in Laredo! With so many people traveling to the edge of the State whether for business, tournaments or vacation, it is our goal as a community that they enjoy their visit. That’s why the Laredo Convention and Visitors Bureau encourages everyone in the hospitality industry to take part in the Laredo Destination Training program.

The main purpose of this program is to help you and other fellow Laredoans learn the ins and outs of the city. Our goal is to educate all of the participants on the unique history and key attractions, including the Uni-Trade Stadium, The Max Golf Course and different birding sites.

Did you know that Laredo was once the Capital of the Republic of the Rio Grande and flew its own flag for less than a year?

These are some of the fun facts those visiting our city are interested in learning about.

A sample itinerary includes a continental breakfast, followed by a half-day, hands-on tour. You may also see a city official hop on our bus and bring you the latest news on the happenings in the city as well as to answer some of your concerns. Following a graduation at the conclusion of the training, everyone will leave with a resource binder armed with helpful information at their fingertips.

All service industry employees are encouraged to partake in the Laredo CVB Destination Training, from front desk personnel, to docents, members of the Chamber of Commerce, retail sales associates, sales managers, taxi drivers and the list goes on! Not only will it help draw in more business and help maintain good clientele relationships, but it will also help you be more knowledgeable about everything found in Laredo.

A thriving city is one that boasts on tourism and great quality of life! Make sure you’re in the know and that we all welcome visitors with a warm Laredo, friendly smile and the best customer service.
