Firefest
Hosted by the Laredo Firefighters Association, this annual event features the hottest bands in the Tejano world. Firefest has hosted bands such as Grupo Solido, Pesado and Los Tigrillos.

Laredo Birding Festival

Local birding enthusiasts have come to describe Laredo as the only place in the U.S. to have boasted four species of Kingfisher, the Ringed, Belted, Green and Amazon. The Laredo Birding Festival features some new, family oriented programs that are still under development and a starter program for those beginners who may be curious about birding and what it takes to get into it.

Laredo International Sister Cities Festival

This three-day event features over 140 exhibitors from all over Mexico. Some of the products offered to the public for purchase are jewelry, clothing, home décor, food, leather goods and more. The event has a free admission and will be celebrating its 10 year anniversary in 2012.

Laredo’s Riofest
Laredo’s Riofest
Hundreds of kayaks and canoes race down the historic Rio Grande for cash prizes. Sport enthusiasts looking for something a little less traditional and more challenging can sign up for Laredo’s RioFest. This event takes place in the Fall.

TAMIU Alumni AutMus Fest

AutMus Fest is one of the largest music festivals along the US-Mexico Border drawing over 10,000 attendees. Founded by the TAMIU Alumni Association, all proceeds raised are used to fund scholarships. Click on their website

Washington’s Birthday Celebration
